Welcome! I am a historian, writer, and teacher based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I am Assistant Professor of History. My work ranges widely across modern German, European, and international history, but I’m especially interested in the domains where ideas and politics intersect. My first book, a new interpretation of West Germany’s post-1945 transition to democracy through the lens of Protestant politics, appears in August 2025.
